This page should serve as a starting point for your journey with Task Force Trident and will contain all of the information and resources necessary to get you from SNA/UPT/WOC to Line Pilot in no time. If you have any questions please contact your home squadron in Discord and a member of that team will be more than happy to support you. Please feel free to escalate to Task Force HQ if you are not getting the help you need.
CAPT "Tophat" Noble - Task Force Trident Commanding Officer (TAFCO)
Training Phase 1 - Initial Flight Training (IFT)
IFT is the first phase of the training pipeline and is completely self-guided, do it at your pace flight. You will complete basic airfield operations under VFR conditions, air-air refueling, and basic waypoint navigation. During all phases of training, you may attend Field Training Exercises (FTXs) during non-deployment cycles OR off-weekend Deployment Missions (with Squadron CO Approval). You can and are highly encouraged to attend your squadron's weekly training to get familiar with how the squadron operates and start to become an integrated pilot within the group!
Training Phase 2 - Advanced Flight Training (AFT)
AFT is the third and second and final phase of the training pipeline and is instructor-guided. AFT is a series of aircraft-specific skill checkoffs that will prepare you to operate cohesively with your squadron. Weapons employment, advanced tactics, advanced communications, and other skills are all focus areas during AFT. Navy pilots will also complete carrier qualifications during AFT. Individual squadrons have specific requirements to complete AFT and this information can be found within the AFT handbook.
Line Pilot Status
After completing the three phases of training you are now a line pilot. Congratulations! You will now be ranked as an O-1 and can participate in Deployment Operations. Great work completing the Task Force Trident training pipeline and we are very excited to see you in the skies!
